Non-account holders – visit www.totesport.com to open a new account and register your mobile number for text betting when prompted to do so, or call 0800 221 221 to open your new account by telephone.
If you wish to deposit funds via a text message into your totesport account, please follow these instructions:
Create a new text message and type in the word DEPOSIT, followed by a space, followed by the amount you wish to deposit (for example 50 for £50). Send the completed text message DEPOSIT 50 to the short code 60021.
You will then receive a call from our automated system to confirm your wish to deposit. You will be asked to enter your bank card CV2 number (3 digit security number on the back of your card) and to confirm your date of birth (you will be prompted to enter this in the format ddmmyy (e.g.311280). When your details have been verified you will receive a text message confirming your funds deposit.

You can also deposit funds into your account at anytime by accessing your totesport account at www.totesport.com or by calling our Customer Care team on 0800 666 160.
Please note that if you have selected Moneybookers as your account payment method you will need to make account deposits and withdrawals online. Customers funding their accounts through Moneybookers cannot make deposits or withdrawals via our text betting service but are still most welcome to use the service to place their bets.

Funds will normally only be paid back to the original source of deposit (i.e. the same card) or to nominated bank account where that is not possible (e.g. Mastercards). Withdrawals may be subject to additional random security checks.
Alternatively, you can also withdraw funds into your account at anytime by accessing your totesport account at www.totesport.com or by calling our Customer Care team on 0800 666 160.

Once we have received your text bet request, we will process the bet and send you a text message receipt. The receipt will contain the details of your bet, a unique receipt number and your remaining account balance. It is extremely important that you check your bet receipt thoroughly when you receive it.
Typically the bet receipt will be generated within 15 seconds of being sent although it may be longer depending on whether the system recognises your requested bet automatically. Please note that your bet is not accepted or considered to be "on" until your receipt has been generated by our system.
Remember that our text betting service only works with the mobile phone number you have registered on your account. If you change your mobile phone number at any time, please ensure you contact our Customer Care team to update your records.
Nothing could be easier. Using your mobile phone create a new text message with your bet instruction and send it to 60021.
We recommend that you type your stake, then the bet type and then your selection. For example, if Kauto Star is running today and you want to place £10 on him to win then simply text 10 win Kauto Star. It’s that simple.
Your bet will be placed at SP (Starting Price) unless stated otherwise [please see “Can I take a price?” and “Can I place a totepool win or each-way bet?”]
If you want to back your selection each-way then your message should read 10 ew Kauto Star (just like you would on a bet slip).
Similarly, if you want to place £10 on Chelsea to win their football match today (90 minute betting) simply text 10 win Chelsea. Alternatively, if you want to back Drogba to be the first goalscorer your text should simply read 10 first goalscorer Drogba or even 10 fg Drogba.
Typically the bet receipt will be generated within 15 seconds of your bet instruction being sent although it may be longer depending on whether the system recognises your requested bet automatically. Please take care when spelling your selection as correct spelling will speed up processing.
Please only send us one bet instruction per text.
You can! If you know the price totesport is currently offering on a horse, simply include that in your text. For example, 10 win Kauto Star @ 2/1. If the price is correct at the time we process your bet, or if the price has moved in your favour (for example, 2/1 moved to 3/1) then you will receive a text receipt confirming your bet and price.
If the price has moved against you (for example, 2/1 moved to Evens) then your bet will not be placed but we will text you advising you of the current price and inviting you to send your bet instruction again should you still wish to do so.
The easiest way of taking the current price is simply to text 10 win Kauto Star @CP. Your bet will then be placed at whatever price totesport is currently offering on your selection. Prices for text bets are the same as those offered on the internet.
Please only send us one bet instruction per text.
Bets with stakes up to £100 are generally accepted via text betting, subject to normal trading restrictions. However, from time-to-time you may receive a call from our automated system asking you to confirm your betting instructions (by confirming your CV2 number and date of birth). These confirmations are normally made when stakes are above £50. Once your details have been verified you will receive a text message confirming your bet placement. The bet is not “on” until that receipt has been generated by our system.
Yes, it’s just the same as placing a normal single bet except that winning bets will be paid at the appropriate tote dividend.
All you need to do is indicate in your text that you want the bet as a totewin, toteplace or toteeachway. For example, 10 tote win Kauto Star or even 10 twin Kauto Star. Similarly, 10 tote ew Kauto Star.
Always remember our golden rule – stake, then bet type, then selections.
For an SP forecast bet simply text 10 forecast Denman Kauto Star. Or you can text 10 reverse forecast Denman Kauto Star if you want it reversed.
Similarly, if you want to do a double on two horses running in different races just text 10 double Denman Deep Purple.
If you want to do a totepool forecast (toteexacta) just text 10 reverse exacta Denman Kauto Star.
SP trebles and totetrifectas work in exactly the same way except you will be nominating three horses.
For these bets you will need to use a set format. Because each bet has several legs, and many customers select several horses in each leg, we have to ask you to use a set format so that we get your bet right.
Here is an example of how to place a toteplacepot bet:
Start your message with your stake, with or without the pound sign (e.g. 2 or £2). Than either type toteplacepot or use our abbreviation for toteplacepot which is placepot or TPPOT. After a space type in the racecourse name.
After a space enter H and the horse number for your selection in the first leg. If you would like multiple horses in the first leg, do not leave a space and type in H followed by the horse number of your other selection and so on. Then, for the second leg, after a space enter H and the horse number for your selection in the second leg. If you would like multiple horses in the second leg, do not leave a space and type in H followed by the horse number of your other selection and so on. Repeat this for all six legs.
After another space type in your unit stake without pound signs. For example; 2 for two pounds.
Send the completed text message (for example, 2 TPPOT ASC H7 H9 H3 H6 H5 H2 or 2 placepot Ascot H7 H9 H3 H6 H5 H2) to the short code 60021.
When the bet is accepted you will receive a confirmation text.
To receive a template for this bet via text message, text ?TPPOT to the short code 60021.
Totequadpot, totescoop6 and totejackpot should all be submitted in the same manner. Totesuper7 bets cannot currently be placed via text betting but we are working on it.
You can place almost any football or horseracing bet via text and on other markets too.
Follow our golden rule (stake, then bet type, then selections) and your bet should be processed without difficulty.

For horseraces, you also have the option of texting the race number and horse number (instead of horsename) but, if you do this, don’t forget to tell us which racecourse it’s running at. For example, 10 win Ascot R4H7
