totesport Text Betting Terms & Conditions

There are separate terms and conditions for the sportsbook, the download casino, the instant casino and instant games . Account holders may transfer funds between these two services. The terms and conditions below relate to text betting.

These terms and conditions govern all bets placed via the totesport text betting service, which is operated by Tote Credit Limited (“totesport”). totesport is established in and operates from the UK and is fully licensed to operate an internet sportsbook from the UK.

By registering for the text betting service you will be deemed to have read and accepted these terms and conditions which constitute a legally binding agreement between totesport and you.

The Betting Rules and Privacy Policy are incorporated within and therefore form part of these terms and conditions.

  1. Account holders are responsible for all bets placed via the text betting service. Account holders will be required to enter their bank card CV2 number for verification purposes whilst using the text betting service. Under no circumstances should an account holder divulge their account number or CV2 number to a third party and bets placed by any third party using either the account holder's mobile phone and/or account number and/or CV2 number will be the responsibility of the account holder unless notification to totesport as follows is confirmed; If an account holder has reason to believe that a third party may be in possession of their mobile phone, account number or CV2 number, the account holder must contact totesport so that the text betting service can be temporarily suspended on their account pending the issue of a new account number and/or CV2 number and/or SIM card by the account holder's telecoms provider. To suspend an account, contact totesport customer care by emailing customercare@totesport.com or calling 0800 666 100.
  2. totesport may close an account without explanation, however in such case any bets already accepted and awaiting fruition will stand.
  3. Customers may use the text betting abbreviations published on the totesport website in order for their bet to be recognized or submit their bet request in free format (as you would on a bet slip).
  4. totesport may refuse the whole or part of any bet.
  5. Customers will receive a message confirming the bet that they have placed. This is the customer’s receipt and it is the responsibility of the customer to check the receipt. If the bet details are incorrect in any way it is the responsibility of the customer to text CALLBACK to 60021 or email customercare@totesport.com or call 0800 666 100.
  6. Your bet is not placed until totesport has dispatched bet confirmation by text message. totesport are not liable for delays in an account holders receipt of any text messages or failure of receipt. Totesport’s (or its telecom’s provider’s) records of dispatch of any text message will be conclusive evidence of the bet placed. Any issues relating to delayed bet confirmations should be taken up with the account holder’s telecoms provider.
  7. Access to or betting by the totesport text betting service may be illegal for persons in certain countries and totesport does not intend that the service is used for betting or any other purposes by such persons. The website does not constitute an offer or invitation by totesport for betting in any jurisdiction in which such activities are prohibited.
  8. Each account holder undertakes to totesport to ensure that they comply with any laws applicable to betting in the location from where a bet is placed. totesport shall not be responsible for any action resulting from the use of their website in jurisdictions where betting may be illegal. totesport reserves the right to void any transactions originating from a courty where betting is prohibited.
  9. Each account holder undertakes to ensure that their credit card issuer allows the card to be used for gambling purposes. totesport shall not be responsible for any action taken by a card issuer against an account holder. totesport reserves the right to void any transactions made via cards where the issuer prohibits use of the card for betting.
  10. To ensure absolute security of all customers’ financial details and to assist us combat fraud efficiently, it may be necessary for us to request customers to provide personal identification for a withdrawal request when funds have been deposited by a credit card.
  11. Accounts are only available to persons aged 18 years or over. Placing bets by anyone under the age of 18 is prohibited and totesport reserves the right to void any transactions with any such person. totesport may carry out age verification checks in accordance with its Privacy Policy.
  12. totesport reserves the right to amend or change these terms and conditions at any time without prior notice and any amendments will be published on this website. It is the account holder's responsibility to be fully aware of the terms and conditions before placing a bet.

    Any rule which is not specifically covered on-line will be governed by Tote Credit Rules of Betting, a copy of which can be requested by writing to Tote Credit Ltd at Westgate House, Chapel Lane, Wigan, WN3 4HS.

  13. totesport makes no representation or warranty as to the continuing operation of the text betting service and cannot be held responsible for the failure of it (or any of the systems / software controlling it). All text bet requests are confirmed by the bet confirmation message and are instantly available to view in the account holder's account section on totesport.com.
  14. You shall indemnify totesport and hold it harmless as well as its subsidiaries, employees and agents and partners, from any claims, liabilities, costs and expenses that may arise as a result of your breach of these terms and conditions or a breach of any laws of any jurisdiction applicable to you. In the event of such breach, your winnings may be forfeited and totesport may retain any positive balance then existing on your account pending investigation and/or the conclusion of any legal proceedings.
  15. Bets are only accepted using the funds available in an account at the time. Where a credit/debit card is used to deposit funds, such funds only become available after totesport has obtained authorisation from the relevant card issuer. Should the card issuer decline a transaction, all enquiries should be addressed by the account holder to the card issuer concerned.
  16. In the event of a dispute not being resolved following contact with customercare@totesport.com, the account holder may refer the matter to the totesport Customer Development Manager. Should the dispute continue to remain unresolved, the matter may then be referred to the Independent Betting Arbitration Service (I.B.A.S.), or any other mutually agreed and recognised body for arbitration, where providing each party has been given the opportunity of submitting their case, any decision shall be binding on both parties.
  17. The maximum payment to any one account holder, in respect of any one day's betting is £100,000 with the following exceptions.

    totepool bets placed on UK racing

    No Limit

    Football and all other sports

    £50,000

    UK Horseracing which is not covered in full

    £25,000

    Horseracing taking place outside of the UK

    £25,000

    (please note that these limits differ for telephone betting, telephone payouts can be found in the general rules section.)

  18. Any bets accepted with a higher liability are still subject to the above maximum payment. Bets for the totejackpot / toteplacepot / totescoop6 transmitted to the relevant pool are not subject to the above maximum payment.
  19. Text Betting is only available on Pounds Sterling (GBP) funded accounts.
  20. Enquiries relating to any aspect of totesport should be directed to customercare@totesport.com. Any betting query received after 14 days from bet placement will be disregarded and correspondence will not be entered into.
  21. totesport reserves the right to reclaim any incorrectly transferred monies relating to incorrect settlement of bets and by accepting these terms and conditions each account holder thereby authorises totesport to withdraw such monies directly from the bank accounts into which they had been paid (without requiring any other contact or authorisation with the account holder in respect of such withdrawal).
  22. Bets placed in accordance with the rules of totesport may only be amended or cancelled by mutual agreement. However, should a bet be accepted in error after the result of the race / event is known or after totesport has ceased to accept bets on the race / event concerned, the selection(s) involved will be void.
  23. If any part of these terms and conditions is deemed unlawful, void or for any reason unenforceable, then that part shall be deemed to be severable from the rest of these terms and conditions and shall not affect the validity and enforceability of the remaining provisions of these terms and conditions.
  24. totesport accepts no liability under the law in any jurisdiction other than the UK. All bets made by text betting, together with these terms and conditions and the Betting Rules, are governed by English law and the courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction to settle any disputes that arise out of or in relation to them.
  25. To cancel the text betting service the customer must text STOP to the short code 60021.

Competition Terms and Conditions

Employees of totesport (and its related companies) and their relatives and third party agencies, their employees and relatives, are not allowed to enter competitions by text  or on the site. Prizes are as stated and cannot be altered. There is no cash alternative for any prize. Entries must be received on or before the closing date stated on the competition. Only one entry per account. The totesport Managing Director's decision on all matters affecting any competition is final.
